Students from grades 7 and 8 went to the first project meeting in Athens, the capital of Greece. For five days, four students, travellers from “Dziesiątka”, under the care of Mrs Ewa Skworzec and Mrs Ewa Michałek had the opportunity to become friends with peers from project partner countries: Lithuania, Portugal, Romania, Italy and, of course, Greece. In accordance with the principle of trips, our students stayed with Greek families, that looked after them very well.
During their stay in the beautiful city of Athens, Malwina, two Wiktorias and Szymon participated in classes at the Greek gymnasium, presenting themselves and Polish legends. They also talked about our school and the city of Rzeszów. They took part in music and art workshops. They got acquainted with the lives of their peers from Greece. A trip to the planetarium turned out to be very interesting, and the projection entitled ‘Cristmas Star’ made a huge impression on all viewers. Moreover, students from our school visited the ancient centre of Athens – Agora. On a sunny day, a trip to the Acropolis was a great idea. The whole ‘four’ also watched the changing of the guard in front of the Parliament and admired the magnificent Christmas tree in the central square of the Greece capital. The purchase of souvenirs was also important. Farewell evening passed very quickly. There were tears of regret that the time of the return to the country has arrived. The friendships made in Greece will be certainly continued. Noteworthy is also the fact of using the English language ‘live’, and what is related to this, the development of language competences. A distant trip to Greece was a test for students of SP10. They passed it perfectly! After returning the experiences were willingly shared with friends from school.
